Grasp

The air,
an artificial chill,
within concrete walls
that grasp.

Those that dwell here
flee
upon sun’s height
and trees’ density.

The girl,
an electric spirit,
is left within its grasp
dutifully.

Those that dwell here
forget
this place
as time leaves.

The days pass,
but she is the only one
left in its grasp.

    Very beautiful poem.
This may sound strange, but it reminds me of vampires (perhaps Twilight??) because you mention “those that dwell here flee upon sun’s height” and I think vampires hiding from the sun. Actually, I think I got that wrong….flee upon…going towards the sun, right? Anyway, i’m sure the poem has much more meaning than my weird or absolutely wrong interpretation.
Maybe about change and accepting what the future holds for you? Free will? Determinism?
Anyway, keep writing poems! I love to read and decipher them 🙂
